Hey there guys…

Um. Sorry about disappearing from the site again…… Uh…yeah…I don’t really know what to say about that. Well, I couldn’t think of anything possibly heart racing so that’s good, right? Hahaha…ha…….

Well… Anyways…First, I’ll slide this in.

That’s 3 parts out of 9. Yeah…um. Not the whole chapter, as you can see. Not much progress in the past, uh, three months…

Well, if you can find me, feel free to kill me. Yeah. I would totally understand. Not exactly good performance on my part…

Oh, and another thing. To the donators here.

If you feel that you want your donations back, I will gladly refund them or send them back, however that works (I’ll hopefully figure it out). At this point, I really don’t deserve them.

Now then, as for my excuses…feel free to ignore this if you want.

Ahem…I recently got a new job. And I can’t really translate during the day like I did at my previous job. That’s pretty much it… Yeah, not a very good reason, I know. And you know, I’m actually releasing this while on travel for the job for training, so I am already out of my comfort zone of what I am used to doing for work (never had to travel for my seven years in my last job). It’s nearly two months in my new job, and I feel really busy. And it still feels like they’re planning on adding to my workload. Ugh.

As for why I am still regularly updating YHKO, well, that one, I have a fear of someone else being assigned to help translate it and I really don’t do well with translating with others. The site is run by others and they have people that they could probably assign to help me. I don’t really have that fear with Isekai Maou because first of all, it’s licensed. Second of all, it’s at the most current volume. I feel like someone would rather have more to translate than that. Third of all, just my wishful thinking that you guys still like my translations of it (though that one might just be me trying to have a little hope in the world).

So, yeah…That’s pretty much all I have to say. Again, if you want your donations back, go ahead and tell me. And if you can find me, feel free to kill me if you want. Probably justified at this point. I don’t really have anything to look forward to in life anyway. Just make it painless, okay? Please?

  3. Rather than kill ya, I’ll punch you in the gut, give ya a pat on the back, and say I’m proud of you for coming back here and facing the possible rage of your fans. Also, personally I think this is really high quality translations compared to other sites (and I’m enjoying YHKO anyways)

    It’s all good man, we were just worried. Don’t beat yourself down. Us fans love your work, we were just worried you abandoned the project due to workload or studies or something. Hold your head uo high, you’re doing great. Thanks for the chapter

  12. I think a majority of us do not mind waiting for updates , given how we are just a bunch of dirty pirates; we just need an occasional update on what is going on. Obviously you work on your on schedule but the suspense on not knowing what is going in with the translations would put some of us on edge.

I know many of the comments are good, understanding people that like the chapters, well, this isn’t, when you first went missing and you put that message I thought:” well, now he has an excuse to disappear as much as he wants ” either put up a schedule(even once a month would be fine as long as we know at what part of the month) or pause the translation for a few months until you are comfortable, but don’t make us do what I at least did for the last months, check up everyday if there were new chapters

    Fuck you for not telling us about it when it happened so we wouldn’t have to worry/grieve.
    Thank you for translating this, in past, present and (hopefully) future!

    Nah, for serious. Translate as much or as little as you want. I ain’t THAT deluded yet, to gripe about free stuff. Translating is a work of love from you to us, so it’s cool if you do it at your own pace.
    Would have been nice though to drop a post, let’s say, every month or so. Just “Hey guys, I’m still alive, don’t worry, I just gots real life troubles to deal with/got a new job/fell in love/rescued a kitten/got hit by Truck-kun and became a hero/am too busy having sex with my beautiful wife to care about you nerdlings, neener neener neener”. Ungrateful we may be, cheap as hell, yes – whatever you can heap at us faceless masses that come to this site each day probably applies to at least some of us. But disappearing without a word is kinda evil, ya know. We leechers do care, after all. Probably. Some of us do, I think. A good chunk at least. So don’t be a stranger.

    Thanks for sticking with us, and I hope you’re having fun at your new job, stressful and new and exciting as it may be. They better pay you mad cash for all that work.

    No problem, take your time, having a new job is always stressful. You need to learn the way the company works, rules, wtf your works gonna be and shit.
    And once you’ve learned everything and you’re no longer a new employee, they start giving you more work besides the work you already have.
    Take it slow. Im used to wait months even for a novel to update.

I didn’t mind the wait so much since you are pretty much up to the last volume, i even think you can probably start the next one when you finish this (i assume it will be out by then), and a new job is always like that, soon you will find yourself used to it (hopefully) but i am now wondeirng just what do you do?

    Don’t beat yourself up over this. Everyone has a life with commitments, and some things (like jobs) take priority. I hope your new job isn’t as stressful as you think. Have a nice day/week/month/whatever unit of time. Relax when you need to relax.

  30. Like most of the other guys allready said, don’t be too hard on yourself. Getting used to a new job can take a lot of time and even more so if the environment changes a lot (no travel in 7 years and now a whole lot if i got that right?)

    Of course as a fan of your translations i would prefer if there would be more available but since we are as you said at the latest volume, that isn’t taht much of an issue since there is a limited amount of chapters available for translation and we would have to wait for the next volume afterwards anyway. After you get used to the new job you might be able to squeeze out a few chapters every month and if you keep that pace that is plenty.

    The only thing i think is worth scolding you for is not giving us a heads up about the situation but lets keep it at that since i think you’re regreting it anyway and thats all thats needed

    Don’t overwork yourself and i hope we hear from you again in 1 or 2 months

    Don’t worry too much about your new job, it’s just a matter of time till you get used and be efficient at it – hope the times comes when you will be proficient enough to have the whole afternoon to translate (just wishful thinking I know…)

  35. Okay, a couple of things.
    1) Super glad to have you back. Wasn’t sure what happened when you ghosted us. You usually put out stuff pretty regularly.
    2) Definitely like your translations. I read the fan translations of Overlord and then bought the light novels when they came out. The fan translations were better. I don’t remember if I bought any of the Demon Lord ones, but I think the same rules apply. Fan translations are better. At this point I really only buy them to support the authors. I don’t actually read them.
    3) If something comes up or you go on hiatus just drop us a line man! Many fans worry about their translators or content creators. I quite often worry about Little Kuriboh if I haven’t seen anything from him in a while.
    4) You are generally speaking a very reliable translator. I was reading the No Game No Life translations and the guy who was doing those just up and disappeared. I think a new guy picked it up now, but still the gap was so big the official english translation is almost out by now!
    5) Either let us know you’re going on hiatus for a while or do some short posts for a while. Even if you only publish like a few paragraphs I think we would all still appreciate it and we’ll take what we can get.

  36. Hi, I’m fairly new here. I discovered Isekai Maou LN only last month and just finished vol.10.
    I just wanted to tell you that I really appreciate the work you do, Especially in comparison to the “official translation”. I bought the physcial copies of 1,2, and 3 and while I can’t compare Volumes 1 and 2, I can for 3. I really appreciate a translator who keeps as close to the source material as possible. Thank you for keeping in the honor fics and certain characters speech patterns-noda!
    Please keep up the vastly superior work. And please don’t take down any more of the earlier work, leaving us with Denim’s BS.

    As for you disappearing. It would be nice to just post a little update about what is going on. It’s kind of rude to leave everyone hanging without any word about it.

  40. Congratulations for your new job! No need to ”kill” you or be angry since you have your own life to take care man. I do personally think that it would be best for you to focus in YHKO and Isekai Maou and just pass Janitor and Ecstas to the hands of another translator(s), with less baggage you may feel less pressure(hopefully). Wish you the best in this new phase of your life!

  44. Don’t say things like you got nothing to live for. Don’t you have a brother? So long as he’s not an asshole who you’d rather not be associated with he’s family. So that’s something to live for. Also getting a better job isn’t something to be ashamed of, you should be happy and proud.
